From a product and UX perspective, the core challenge was balancing complexity and clarity.
BRIDGE needed to:
support multiple programmes, cohorts, and geographies
surface organisations, events, stories, and impact data
encourage participation and connection within communities
work seamlessly across mobile and web
remain flexible enough to evolve as programmes grew
At the same time, the experience had to feel human, inclusive, and purposeful, not like a traditional enterprise or admin-heavy platform.
The app and website were designed around the idea of community as a living system, not a static directory.
Key experiences included:
a map-based view to explore organisations and cohorts geographically
feeds and calendars to surface relevant activity and events
profiles that told meaningful stories, not just listed data
clear navigation between discovery, participation, and impact
Each interaction was designed to reduce friction and encourage exploration, helping users feel part of something larger rather than navigating isolated pages.
Visually, the platform needed to communicate trust, optimism, and momentum.
The UI design focused on:
soft gradients and layered shapes to convey connection and flow
a modular system that adapted to different programmes and brands
clear hierarchy for content, impact data, and storytelling
accessibility and legibility across devices
The result was a visual language that felt warm and human, while still being structured enough to support complex data and interactions.
A key part of the platform was enabling organisations to tell their story through data and outcomes, not just words.
Impact sections were designed to:
visualise progress over time
surface fundraising, engagement, and growth metrics
combine qualitative feedback with quantitative data
make impact understandable at a glance
This helped shift reporting from static documents to living, shareable experiences, accessible both to organisations and external stakeholders.
The BRIDGE app and platform became a central hub for community engagement, enabling organisations to:
discover and connect with each other
participate in programmes more actively
track and communicate their impact
feel part of a shared ecosystem rather than isolated entities
From a design perspective, this project demonstrates my ability to:
design complex community platforms
work across app and web as a single system
translate abstract values (connection, impact, trust) into concrete interactions
build scalable foundations for evolving products
Next projects.
